It seems like just yesterday we were all eagerly awaiting the arrival of spring. And here it is, almost autumn. Actually autumn is my favorite time of the year, so that’s OK with me, but the summer did seem to fly by. Here at Vintage Mama’s Cottage we’ve been buried under piles of stuff as we are sorting, reorganizing, de-cluttering, and painting the inside of our house. It is definitely a lot of work, and very time consuming, but the good news is that once it is done, it will be DONE. Not that we will be done forever . . . but if we decide to paint one room again another day (another year!) at least we will have all the old, yucky wallpaper removed and all we will have to do is paint. But for now, I’m dividing my time between my writing, editing, and blogging and sorting and painting. Keeps me out of trouble most days!
We are looking forward to the cooler days of autumn, and hope to get back to some of the yard projects that we started in the spring. In the middle of the summer, it is just too hot and humid to make much progress outside, but in September and October, we get lots of outdoor projects done. We need to power wash the siding, our Daddy already painted his backyard storage shed a beautiful dark blue with white trim, and all of the flower beds need to be cleaned up and prepared for winter. We had hoped to refinish the deck, but that might have to wait until next spring. One thing I am definitely going to do, however, is paint our front door. I’m thinking a dark turquoise will look really pretty with our light gray siding and white trim. We’ll see when I get to that project!
For now, however, I’m working on finishing up the September issue of RUBY magazine and I always create a pretty calendar to include in each issue of the magazine. And of course I like to share that design with all of you! So here is the September 2017 printable calendar that you can use on your blog or website, or print it out and use in your art journal or whatever you want to do with it. I couldn’t resist the apples – the perfect symbol of a beautiful autumn day! More autumn inspiration coming soon here at Vintage Mama’s Cottage, just as soon as the September issue of RUBY magazine has been published. Talk to you again soon!
