I think the plan is to feature some of our favorite posts each week for the blog hop / linky party . . . and I’m getting things all backwards, but usually on Thursdays I have other stuff on my mind and it isn’t until Thursday night or Friday morning when I have time to visit some of the bloggers who have joined the weekly party and THEN I find a few posts that I want to feature. Of course, it would be fun to feature everyone, every week, but then that would be a bit redundant. So here goes with a few of the fun blog posts from this week’s Favorite Things Blog Hop!
Five Last-Minute Valentine Gift Ideas
from Thistlewood Farms
KariAnne at Thistlewood Farms has some amazingly creative and beautiful DIY projects for Valentine’s Day – and since we don’t have a lot of time left to make something special for our friends and family, you will want to take a look at all of her suggestions for last-minute Valentine gifts. Visit her at Thistlewood Farms for more creative inspiration!
15+ Genius Uses for Vintage Sheets
from Five Marigolds
When I came across Rochelle’s blog, Five Marigolds, and this post on using vintage linens . . . . well, how could a Vintage Mama resist checking out all of her fun ideas? I’ve used vintage linens for lots of stuff in the past, but I absolutely LOVE her ideas for making little girls’ dresses out of vintage tablecloth material and pillow cases and other scrap material. The buntings are gorgeous and will be a fun addition to our patio this spring, and the aprons, oh my! I love them all and now I’m inspired to get busy out in my own sewing studio and create a bunch of fun stuff with my scraps of fabric and vintage linens that I’ve been collecting. Stop by Five Marigolds for even more creative inspiration.
Hearts and Lovebirds Valentine’s Day Wreath
from Flamingo Toes
Since I have a fondness for wreaths for every season of the year, it is just natural that I would find this adorable Valentine’s Day wreath by Bev from Flamingo Toes and want to share it with you. One of the things I like about this one is that it is made in pastel colors instead of the traditional red, pink, and white that is used for Valentine’s Day. This wreath is not only beautiful, but it would be perfect to transition from winter right on into spring! I love it and I think I’m going to make one for our front door. If you want to make your own Lovebirds Valentine’s Day wreath, visit Bev at Flamingo Toes for the complete tutorial.
One of my goals this coming week is to visit as many of the participants in the Favorite Things Blog Hop as possible and share a few more favorites here at Vintage Mama’s Cottage. I hope you’ll visit some of them, too, and I know you’ll find a few favorites of your own. Until next time, stay inspired and be creative every day!
