Well . . . orange and brown haven’t been my preferred color scheme since at least the 80s, so autumn home decor has often been somewhat of a challenge for me. I love autumn, it is my favorite time of year, but I do truly have ambivalent feelings about getting our home all decked out for this wonderful season in yellows, oranges, and browns. So I have been delighted to see lots of neutral fall decor ideas this year! #FallDecor #Autumn #HomeMattersParty
Here are just a few that I’ve found with ivory, gray, muted golds and browns that will work for our newly painted and updated living room. Rather simple, uncluttered (perhaps “minimalist”?) and soft, gentle colors that make me think of foggy mornings with a cup of tea by the fireplace. This works for me! We are planning to get our yard and garden cleaned up for winter this weekend – even though it isn’t yet time for the snow to fall, all of the summer blooms are beginning to look quite droopy and sad, so I’m going to replace some of my potted plants with beautiful mums, and I have a pretty wreath on the deck door that is all in neutral shades, so I’m on my way!
With a few pretty pillows on the couch, a couple of new candles on the coffee table, and perhaps one or two new centerpieces or display pieces along with a soft, fluffy blanket tossed across the back of the couch . . . done! Then I’m back to all the other tasks on my To Do list. Hoping to have it all spruced up by next week, and if I do, I’ll post pictures to show you. In the meantime, I’m late for this week’s #HomeMattersParty because of . . . well, just because of LIFE . . . . but I’m here now, so I hope you can join the fun!
