I guess I’m just a little bit excited about the arrival of spring! Every morning I open my kitchen door to check on my daffodils that are peeking up out of the ground, and wonder if it’s warm enough yet to get out there and do some raking and general clean up from the winter debris. But, no, it’s still pretty cold, so I move on to other tasks for the day, but I really am having a hard time waiting for the opportunity to get out there and rake up the autumn leaves that have blown around the corner over the winter and clean up the leftover branches and twigs that landed in the garden in the winter storms.
Since it is the last week of March and April is next week, I decided to make a new printable calendar to share with you. I’m doing my best to be patient, but for some reason this spring it seems like it can’t warm up soon enough for me! We have so many spring / summer projects planned and I just want to get started. In the meantime, while I’m waiting for good weather so I can get outside and work, I’ve been working on my art journal with a new calendar page for each month, along with lots of other fun “junk” that I collect for journaling.
If you have been thinking about starting an art journal, but really don’t know where to begin, this is a great starter . . . just print out each month’s calendar and glue it into an blank book / journal and then follow along with my art journal adventures right here at Vintage Mama’s Cottage. I’ll share some creative ideas for you that just might inspire your own creativity! And if you are like some people who have told me that they just don’t know what colors, paints, markers, designs, papers, or other “stuff” to put together – well, that’s all part of the fun! Try lots of different things and see what you like the best.
Just as soon as I wrap up a couple of other projects, I’m thinking of making a video of my art journaling project so you can see how I do it. But remember, there is no RIGHT way to create your art journal! It’s YOUR art journal and you can do it any way that you want. But it is fun to get ideas from one another so I hope you’ll stop by and check out my 2018 art journal. And if you are working on your own art journal, I would love to see pictures of your designs.
Even if you aren’t creating an art journal, this printable calendar is fun to save to your computer and share it on your blog or website, or for any other purpose at all. It is FREE to you from Vintage Mama’s Cottage, so just right click on the image and “Save as image” to your computer, and then you can do whatever you want with it. I hope you have fun with the April 2018 printable calendar from Vintage Mama’s Cottage . . . because I really have great fun designing the monthly calendars!
