I just love autumn! I love the smells, the sounds, the beauty of the changing seasons. And I love the colors of autumn. But I’ve been noticing more variety in the colors that are being used for autumn decorations, and thought I’d see what I could find that might be a creative new way to “fix up” our pumpkins. One of the colors that I included in our autumn flower display on our front porch this year is the purple mums. The dark red ones really look pretty with the white, yellow, and purple flowers all grouped together, with a couple of bright orange pumpkins nestled in the middle of them.
But when I started looking for other creative ways to display pumpkins besides the traditional carving of silly faces with a candle inside (we don’t really do all of the creepy, scary stuff at Halloween, but love to celebrate all the pretty stuff of autumn), I discovered that another color that is fun to include in autumn decor is turquoise. And white. And gold. I put together a little collection of pretty painted pumpkins that I discovered around the blogosphere, and have included the links to the original blog posts so you can find them, too, if you want to try something just a little bit different this year with your pumpkins.
